NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the City of Ilwaco to hold a public open house event to discuss the 2027 periodic update of the City’s Comprehensive Plan at the hour of 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible on October 28, 2025.

HYBRID – This public open house offers a hybrid format. Interested parties may attend in-person in the Ilwaco Community Building located at 158 First Avenue North. The meeting will begin with a presentation, followed by a walk-in style open house open to the public and anyone who wishes to attend. City staff and their consultant team will be available to answer questions about the Comprehensive Plan update process and discuss opportunities for community involvement throughout the project.

This is not a formal meeting of the Planning Commission or City Council, though members of one or both bodies may be present. A quorum of either is neither requested nor required. No formal decisions will be made at this Open House, which is considered a public meeting under Washington State law. All comments will become part of the public record and will not be edited or redacted. Please do not include any sensitive or confidential information.

The City of Ilwaco is preparing to initiate its next Comprehensive Plan periodic update, due in 2027, with support from a grant provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce with funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA). The Comprehensive Plan serves as a 20-year roadmap for guiding future growth, development, and community character in the city. It also fulfills requirements under the Washington State Growth Management Act (GMA) under RCW 36.70A, by including a vision statement, along with goals and policies for the plan elements.
