The commission consists of five members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council. They advise the mayor and council on comprehensive plan amendments, and dedications and vacation of streets and alleys. Members are selected without respect to political affiliations, and serve without compensation. The terms of office are six years.
Commissioners are not required to be a resident of Ilwaco if they can successfully demonstrate a reasonable interest in the future of our city.
The Planning Commission meets as needed on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Ilwaco Community Room.
